MII Customer Portal: Customer Self-Service for MII ERP+ and MII Helpdesk

Support teams spend a surprising share of their day not solving problems but reporting on them. Customers call to ask whether a ticket has been picked up, email to chase a change request, and phone again to ask when a fix will be delivered. Every one of those conversations is a sign that the customer cannot see what is happening.
The MII Customer Portal gives each of your customers their own secure sign-in, connected directly to MII Helpdesk. Customers and your support team always look at the same ticket, the same change request and the same service level. This article walks through how it works.
Built on the Same Data as Your Helpdesk
The MII Customer Portal is built on Oracle Technology products, on the same Oracle database as MII Helpdesk and MII ERP+. When an agent updates a ticket, the customer sees it at once; when a customer replies or approves, the agent sees it at once. There is nothing to synchronise and no second system to maintain.
How Customers Use the Portal
1. A Dashboard of What Needs Attention
When customers sign in, their home page shows open tickets, tickets waiting for their response, change requests waiting for their approval with their value, and resolved tickets waiting for feedback. They know immediately what needs their attention.
2. Raising and Following Tickets
Customers raise tickets against a help topic and support project, attach screenshots or files, and reply in the conversation. They see the status and SLA due times of every ticket, but never your internal notes. When they are satisfied, they can close the ticket themselves.
3. Users and Superusers for Each Customer
Each customer company has its own users. A regular user sees the tickets they raised; a customer superuser, such as an IT manager, sees every ticket of their company. No customer ever sees another customer's data.
4. Approving Change Requests
When a request is outside the agreed support scope, your team raises a change request with the effort and cost. The customer reviews it in the portal and either approves it or asks for a revision, such as fewer man-days or a lower price. They can download the change request as a PDF for their own approvals. Billable work starts sooner, with a clear record of what was agreed.
5. Requesting 24x7 Support
Customers who have opted for round-the-clock support can request it on an urgent ticket, giving the reason and a contact person, and follow the request until it is approved.
6. Rating the Service
When a ticket is resolved or closed, customers rate it from 1 to 5, say whether the issue was actually solved, and suggest improvements. Your team gets honest feedback on every interaction.
7. Exporting Their Data
Customers can download their ticket list to CSV for their own reviews, audits and management reports.

A Portal That Grows with You
The MII Customer Portal is a framework of modules. Each customer user sees only the modules their responsibilities allow. Helpdesk is the first module; further services, such as order status or field service, can be added to the same portal and the same sign-in, so your customers have one place for everything they do with you.
Who It Is For
- ERP partners and software companies with support contracts
- IT service providers and system integrators
- Manufacturers supporting installed equipment
- Companies offering annual maintenance contracts
- Any business handling recurring customer requests
